Dr. Amber Testa, PsyD
Dr. Amber Testa is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience supporting adults across a variety of settings. In addition to providing psychotherapy, she specializes in comprehensive psychological evaluations that assess for specific symptoms and offer clear diagnostic insights and tailored treatment recommendations.
Dr. Testa holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from La Salle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. With a focus on health and neuropsychology, she trained at Temple University Hospital- Episcopal Hospital Campus, University of Pennsylvania The Center for Cognitive Therapy and La Salle University Community Center for Counseling. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Hudson River Psychiatric Center in New York’s Hudson Valley.
After earning her doctorate, she began her career in a maximum-security prison, where she contributed to the development and implementation of innovative mental health programs for incarcerated individuals. In this role she provided individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, and psychological assessment, ultimately advancing to the position of regional supervisor.
Dr. Testa later returned to her roots in health and neuropsychology, working in medical settings with individuals adjusting to newly acquired and chronic medical conditions that significantly impact daily functioning.
Since that time, Dr. Testa has relocated to Brooklyn, New York, where she strives to maintain a balance between her private practice while continuing to assume roles working in the community, including with underserved populations. She specializes in online care that offers a safe space and provides services and support for those working to build self-esteem, reduce anxiety and depression, strengthen coping skills and improve their relationships.
Dr. Testa’s clinical orientation is behavioral, granting her experience in ACT, CBT, DBT, and other evidence- based interventions.
